Fold or Raise Situations

As many of you know, I’m a poker enthusiast.

In Texas Hold’em, when facing a raise and it’s your turn to act, you can either fold, call, or raise.

Most players tend to call far too often – it’s a passive play and it’s tempting for new players to call a bet simply to see another card.

Thinking players understand there are “fold or raise” situations.

These are scenarios where most players would call, but the far better play in the long run would be to either be aggressive and raise, or completely give up on the hand by folding.

In fold or raise situations, calling is common and most players’ default, but it’s by far the worst option.

The same concept applies to your trading business.

Is there something you’re doing now by rote or as a default that would be better to either quit (fold) or go all-in on (raise)?

A good candidate is something you do that a lot of other traders do as well.

What would it look like if you stopped doing it or even did the opposite?
